Worst Persons:

Here are Countdown's Viewers' nominees for today's top three Worst Persons in the Worrrrld.

The bronze, to New Jersey State Senate President Stephen Sweeney, the one who expelled the remarkable series of epithets against Governor Chris Christie a week ago.

This is Senator Sweeney being interviewed by the Fox station in Philadelphia.

All that's missing is the statement "and if I'm not telling the truth, may I get hit by lightning!"

Obviously this isn't really his fault but I couldn't think who else to blame.

I mean I don't think it's Governor Christie's doing.

At least I hope not.

Our runner-up: Congressman Paul Brown of Georgia.

Georgia, where they chased all the immigrants out and now they don't have anybody to harvest the crops.

Dr. Brown -- he's a physician incredibly enough -- has made a career out of not getting treatment for whatever's wrong with him emotionally.

His latest?

From the invocation at a barbecue in Cobb County on the 4th of July... Dr. Feel-Paranoid said, quote:

"We're standing on the precipice, staring down in the deep chasm of socialism and total government control,"

"Father, there are many who want to destroy us from outside this nation. Folks like al-Qaeda and the radical Islamists. But there are folks that want to destroy us from inside, the progressives and the socialists, who want to make this nation a nation that's no longer under you, under God, but a nation that's ruled by man."

Let me ask you something, Congressman Doctor Brown.

If God runs this country and the Progressives and Elitists are trying to run it, how come you got your medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, rather than just by getting a note from the Almighty saying he'd chosen you to heal the sick?

But our winner: Nelson Santiago, our airport security nightmare of the day.

The two-year veteran TSA screening officer was spotted doing something unusual at Terminal 1 at Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida this week.

A Continental Airlines employee saw Mr. Santiago taking an iPad out of the luggage he was screening, and putting it in his pants.

The Sheriff's Office says that Mr. Santiago of the TSA had been stealing electronics from passengers for six months now. 50-thousand dollars worth.

He would then photograph what he'd stolen, upload the photos, and sell on-line what had he swiped, before his shift was over.

With its typical tone-deafness to the fact that the commuting public agrees that the TSA is a far greater practical threat to them than is any rumored terrorist, the agency's only statement about Santiago was that he no longer worked for them.

Nelson "is that an iPad in your pants or are you just glad to see my luggage" Santiago... Today's Worst Person In The World.
